Exclusief: iPhone 5C specificaties gelekt; wel met Siri!

Van de iPhone 5C zijn de afgelopen weken talloze foto’s gelekt van voornamelijk het design, maar van de specificaties is nog eigenlijk niets bekend. Vandaag hebben we de hand weten te leggen op de eerste specificatiesheet van de goedkopere iPhone, met als meest opvallende feature Siri. Aangezien een analist twee weken geleden voorspelde dat de iPhone 5C niet over het bekende spraakbesturingsprogramma van Apple zou gaan beschikken.

Ondanks dat de Amerikaanse fabrikant zelf nog niet heeft bevestigd, lijkt de naam van het toestel – iPhone 5C – ook officieel bevestigd, waarbij de “C” vermoedelijk staat voor color (kleur). Wijzend naar alle verschillende kleuren waarin de plastic variant van de iPhone 5 in gehuld gaat worden.

Gezien de specificaties die staan vermeld op de sheet lijkt het inderdaad qua kenmerken veel te lijken op de iPhone 5, zoals eerder al werd gedacht. Waarbij voor de afmetingen en gewicht Amerikaanse maten zijn gebruikt. Vertaald naar millimeters en gram krijg je de volgende specificaties voor de iPhone 5C, die inmiddels goedkoop is aan te schaffen met een sim only:

  • 124,2 x 58,4 x 7,6 mm
  • 106 gram

Hiermee is het toestel iets groter en smaller, maar de verschillen hiervan zijn minimaal. De dikte is gelijk gebleven, ondanks dat eerder bleek op basis van uitgelekte cases dat de 5C ietsjes dikker zou gaan worden. Het gewicht is met 6 gram afgenomen, wat te verklaren valt door de gebruikte plastic behuizing.

Exclusive: iPhone 5C specifications leaked, Siri is included

Pictures of the iPhone 5C were leaked several times the past weeks from mainly the design, but the specifications are still basically unknown. Today we received from our tipster the first specification sheet of the cheaper iPhone, with the most striking feature Siri. As an analyst predicted that the iPhone 5C would not have Siri on board two weeks ago.

Although the American manufacturer has not yet confirmed anything, the name of the device – iPhone 5C – seems also officially confirmed, where the “C” presumably stands for color.

Given the specifications listed on the sheet, it looks in terms of specifications much like the iPhone 5, as previously thought.

  • Siri (English, French, German, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Italian and Spanish)

This makes the device slightly larger and narrower than the iPhone 5, but these differences are minimal. The thickness remained unchanged, despite recent leaked cases that showed a slightly thicker design. The weight is 6 grams decreased, which can be explained by the plastic housing.

The predicted retail price of the iPhone 5C is set around $ 400 for the 16 GB version and the release is set for the end of September.
